About the course

Professional Services – Higher Level Apprenticeship Management Accounting
This apprenticeship is intended for new or existing staff working in a range of finance roles in any organisation type. The apprentice may be assisting with reporting financial information, preparing budgets & forecasts, analysing data, preparation of accounts and providing bespoke reports and management information.

Note that the L4 Diploma in Accounting and Business is capable of being assessed through the examinations set by the CIMA for its CBA qualification.

Subjects covered

What does the Apprenticeship cover?
The Level 4 programme is made up of two qualifications covering a range of accounting and business skills:

Level 4 Diploma in Business Accounting – Technical Knowledge - Consisting of 5 modules:
  • Applying the Fundamentals of Management Accounting
  • Applying the Fundamentals of Financial Accounting
  • Understanding and Applying the Fundamentals of Business Mathematics
  • Applying the Fundamentals of Business Economics
  • Applying the Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law

Level 4 Diploma in Business Accounting – Work-Based Competence
Completed through Work Place Evidence (WPE) and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) in the form of a Portfolio.

How is the training delivered?

The training delivery takes place at Farnborough College of Technology; there is a choice between day release and evening class. In addition, there is regular progress and monitoring support visits to the workplace.

Entry requirements

Applicants for this apprenticeship should be able to demonstrate ability equivalent or exceeding Level 2 qualifications or an initial assessment which demonstrates the required ability.
