About the course

Access to Higher Education Diplomas are for mature students who missed out on a formal qualification, but would like to return to study and achieve a nationally recognised qualification.

The aim of the course is to provide students with a route into higher education at university or college and is the equivalent of two to three A Levels. The course takes one year to complete if studied full time, or two years part time.

On Completion

These courses provide a route to higher education at university, with previous students choosing to study a fast-track degree here at University Centre Farnborough or applying to study elsewhere.

Entry requirements

This course is designed for mature students, normally aged 21 or over, who have had sufficient life/work experience between leaving school and starting the programme. As this is a Level 3 qualification acceptance onto the course is based on aptitude and commitment following an interview process which includes formal testing. GCSE English and Mathematics, prior to starting the course, are highly desirable as many universities require these for entry.
