Going to College Just Got Easier

OK, so we know studying full time can stretch your finances.

So we decided to help.

We’ve cut the cost of travel on local buses.

From September 2016 our bus passes just got better!

You can now get to college for less than the price of a cup of coffee in most high street coffee shops.

Our bus passes:
  • Can be used 7 days a week (great for those shopping and sports events)
  • Last 44 weeks a year (great for holiday travel)
  • Can be used over several counties*
  • Cost less than ever.
*Unirider bus tickets cover West Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey, West Berkshire and Brighton (handy for a free trip to the seaside).

Our Commitment

  • In order to maximise student participation in education, the college will endeavour to ensure that all students under the age of 19 on 31 August, who are attending a full-time further education course, can access the College from across the catchment region.
Our students travel in easily from a wide surrounding area. All full-time students can buy season tickets for bus and rail travel at reduced prices.

The majority of students use the Stagecoach Unirider Scheme, as this is the main operator for this area.

Students Living in Surrey

Surrey County Council also issues Student Fare Cards offering allows travel on buses or trains at reduced rates for journeys to and from college for students living in Surrey.

Farnborough has excellent bus and train services, with 3 train stations within walking distance of the College. Students are able to travel in easily from a wide geographic area. If you live in the Whitehill and Bordon areas, students can take advantage of a direct bus service to the college that takes approximately 40 minutes, to both Aldershot and Farnborough sites.

Help with the costs of travel

Students receiving the 16-19 Farnborough College Bursary, 16-18 Guaranteed or 19+ Support Scheme may be entitled to free travel (Students must live at least 3 miles away from the college as measured by Google maps)
Any student with a valid student ID number or an NUS extra card can buy subsidised bus and train tickets.
