Living in Farnborough
Farnborough is situated in North Hampshire and has good links to other parts of the UK, as the M3, M4 and M25 motorways are close by and there are frequent rail services from Farnborough Main station to London (Waterloo) that take around 40 minutes. There are two further local stations – North Camp and Farnborough North – with connections to Reading, Gatwick Airport and Guildford. Our nearest airport is London Heathrow (26 miles), Gatwick, Southampton and Bournemouth airports are also easily accessible.
Shopping, Dining and Socialising
Farnborough town centre is just a five minute walk from the College campus in Boundary Road, where you will find a variety of retail outlets and coffee shops. Other shopping centres, such as Camberley, Basingstoke, Woking, Guildford and Reading, are a short bus or train journey away and have cinemas, bars, clubs and restaurants.
Health and Fitness
Farnborough has its own modern leisure centre, including a swimming pool, gym and bowl complex. There is a water sports centre close to the Farnborough campus and the Alpine Ski Centre in nearby Aldershot.

Culture and Events
There are a variety of theatres, music venues and art galleries in neighbouring towns, all of which offer an exciting programme of events all year round, not to mention London’s West End only a short train journey away!
As the home of British Aviation, Farnborough hosts an international aerospace exhibition, which is held every other year and attracts visitors from all around the world. For aircraft enthusiasts the FAST Museum is the ideal place in which to learn about Farnborough’s aeronautical heritage.
Farnborough is also home to St Michael’s Abbey, built by the Empress Eugénie, widow of the Emperor Napoleon III of France. There is a free tour every Saturday at 3pm. The tour includes a visit to the Crypt, which is the Mausoleum of Napoleon III and his family.
