The National Careers Service (formerly known as Next Step) is a personalised online/face to face service that allows individuals to take control of their learning and working life. This service is free to every adult in England it can help you improve your working life and provide information, careers and skills advice tailored to you.

If you are thinking about learning a new skill or changing career direction they can help you to:

  • Find learning and training that is right for you
  • Improve reading, writing and maths
  • Choose the right course
  • Develop your CV
  • Find out if there is funding support available
  • Track how much has been spent on your behalf in learning
  • Develop an action plan of your careers assessment to take forward
